Description

Thinlegged Wolf Spiders are very numerous around here.  I keep my eye out for them because I have yet to shoot a momma with her babies.  I've seen examples of that but not recently (and by recently here I mean in the past decade).  I have no fear or problem ever with handling Wolf Spiders.  They are not at all dangerous.  You just need to be gentle so that they aren't inadvertently injured.  They are friendly and don't easily spook.

You're not gonna believe the encounter I had with a wolf spider today. It was my first time catching one in a glass and trying to feed it. I gave him some water by letting the sink drip into it, and wouldn't you know it, it was the first time I ever saw a spider wearing a water droplet for a hat - up close and personal! :D I tried to feed him what looked like a stink bug but he wouldn't even pounce on it, so I let him back out. He was missing a leg before I caught him.
